Going to great lengths to keep customers happy is at the heart of Cronulla Carpets business, and provides the best possible product range and service. It’s a tradition that has been inherited by and passed on through three generations of Cronulla Carpet’s Casaceli family.
50 years on, general managers Joe and Anthony Casaceli, each continues to build on their family tradition of customer service and quality products which was started by company founders Diane and Angelo Casaceli in their gift shop. Established in 1948, the Casaceli gift shop catered to the needs of locals by ordering everything they asked for. It soon became a variety store selling a wide range of goods such as home furnishings, furniture, crockery, prams and sporting goods.
In 1951, the store moved to larger premises and the name changed to Superior Furniture. Angelo and Diane’s sons, Joe and Ron took an active role. They spent their days in the store, and evenings visiting customers to measure, quote and deliver goods. Distance and the absence of roads never prevented them from making a delivery. In those days, Joe and Ron even had to sew carpets together for orders with an old sewing machine.
As the furnishing and floor coverings side of the business grew, Joe moved Cronulla Carpets to Taren Point, where they are still located today. Joe’s son, Anthony Casaceli says that “despite enormous changes, we have never lost sight of Angelo’s vision to provide the best in products and services.”
